Hello Isandovale Residents,

First off we have to have a word from Mr Clive Beeton

Good day residents and friends of Isandovale .

After over 20 years of being involved on the committee and heading it up along with the setting up for us to be a legal “ROAD CLOSURE “ it has come time for me to hand over the Leadership.

It is time for new young blood and enthusiastic Members to take over . I have stepped down as Chairperson from 1 January 2026 and the new Head of the Road closure is Trevor and his new committee . They are an energetic , approachable , dedicated group who while still under my watch proved to be a solid team moving IRCA forward in the future. I hope everyone gives them the support that was shown to me over the years .

On this note its been great to meet everyone over the years as well as get all your valued suggestions and input . It is appreciated and still valued by the committee and please continue to do so .

You would have noted over the past month and a half all the new energy and projects undertaken by the committee and this is thanks to them as well as YOUR valued support . lets all support further as ISANDOVALE really is one of the neatest, friendliest and safest areas on the east rand . We have achieved so much coming from the scary days before we closed off the area . All you have to do is chat to the residents who were here before we were enclosed to hear how serious and regular we were affected by horrific crimes .

I will still be around to offer any assistance the committee requires( while in the area) going forward and trust we all give them our fullest support .

Been good and successful to serve you all and looking forward to seeing you at one of the next events that are planned .. Lets stay safe ISANDOVALE and all the very best moving on forward into the bright future .

Best wishes from ME to the committee and each one of you .

Stay blessed

“ REMEMBER —— “LOVE LIFE AND IT LOVES YOU BACK”

🌱 Let’s Grow Our Community Together

We’re grateful to share that 54% of our area is currently contributing. A heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who’s already helping keep our neighbourhood safe, maintained, and constantly improving.

But imagine what we could achieve with even more support. With 70–80% participation, we could move faster, make upgrades more visible, and unlock opportunities that benefit every household. Communities like Hurlyvale and HEBRA show how powerful it is when neighbours unite behind a shared vision.

👉 If you’re not contributing yet, I’d love to connect — warmly and openly. Your voice and your reasons matter just as much as your contribution. Whether you have questions, uncertainties, or simply want to understand how everything works, please feel free to send me a private message anytime. No pressure, no judgement — just a conversation about what’s happening now, what’s coming next, and how every bit of support helps us all move forward together.

And if you’re ready to join in, Buffy is available to assist with sign‑ups quickly and easily.

Every contribution, big or small, strengthens our whole community. Let’s make our neighbourhood the kind of place we’re all proud to call home — together. 💙

🔒 Mamba vs. Enclosure Contributions

This is a common question, so let’s clear it up:

  • Mamba = your personal home security. Armed response, alarm monitoring, and panic assistance — protecting your house specifically.
  • Enclosure contribution = protection and improvement of the entire neighbourhood. This covers:
    • Perimeter security
    • Booms & guardhouses
    • Cameras at entrances (and potentially across more streets in future)
    • Area upkeep and infrastructure
    • Overall crime prevention for the suburb

You’ve already seen visible results: new booms, the guardhouse, cameras at the bottom entrance — with more improvements in the pipeline.

Before the enclosure, crime was far worse: house break‑ins, hijackings, and uncontrolled access points. The enclosure changed that by: ✔ Keeping serious crime out ✔ Giving us controlled access points ✔ Improving the look and upkeep of the area ✔ Helping increase property values over time

In short:

  • Mamba protects your home.
  • The enclosure protects your neighbourhood.

Both are important, but they serve different purposes.

🗑️ Refuse Collection: Morning Only, Please

We’ve noticed more bins being placed out the night before collection. While it may feel convenient, it unfortunately creates risks for our community:

  • It signals that no one is home.
  • It attracts bin pickers, which can lead to increased crime.

We kindly ask all residents to put bins out on Wednesday mornings only. Yes, mornings can be busy — but this small act of caution makes a big difference in keeping our streets safe and clean.

👉 Please also avoid encouraging bin pickers. Together, we can reduce opportunities for crime and keep our neighbourhood looking its best.

Let’s work hand‑in‑hand to protect our community and maintain the safe, welcoming environment we all enjoy. 🌟

🚧 The Great Pothole Project

We did it! In record time, our community raised a whopping R30,140.00 — and wow, did that money go to work.

  • 99% of potholes filled (no more dodging craters like rally drivers).
  • Both entrances freshly painted (looking sharp!).
  • Next up: painting the speed bumps on the main roads. And if we keep the momentum going, maybe — just maybe — we’ll have enough to tackle the rest too.

This is what happens when neighbours pull together. With 75% contributions, we could do even more, faster, and bigger. Imagine smoother roads, brighter entrances, and a suburb that just keeps levelling up.

🙏 Huge Thanks (with a Smile)

  • To every single resident who contributed — without you, we’d still be swerving like Formula 1 drivers and squinting at faded entrances.
  • To Mamba Security — not only keeping us safe but also donating towards the project. That’s community spirit in action.
  • To Sureta and Calvin — absolute legends who helped every step of the way.
  • To the fix‑it team — bloody good job filling those holes!
  • And to the painting crew — lekker straight lines, and it looks fantastic.

This project proves what we can achieve together. From dodging potholes to proudly driving through freshly painted entrances, we’ve turned frustration into celebration.

So here’s to smoother rides, brighter streets, and a community that knows how to laugh while getting things done. 🥳

🚫 Boom Gate Safety: Security First

We’ve had a few recent incidents at the booms:

  • 🚗 Vehicles tailgating through the gates
  • 🚶‍♂️ People loitering near the entrances

This isn’t just inconvenient — it’s dangerous. Tailgating can damage the boom arms and your vehicle, while loitering compromises the safety of everyone in the community.

👉 Our guards now have strict instructions:

  • They cannot open the booms “just because it’s your friend or chom.”
  • The only exceptions are trailers and traffic congestion.

Please respect these rules. They’re not about being difficult — they’re about keeping our neighbourhood secure. The guards are here to do their job properly, and that means prioritizing safety over convenience.

Together, we can ensure the booms remain effective, our entrances stay protected, and our community continues to be a safe place for all.

🚀 Exciting Upgrades Coming Soon

Our neighbourhood is about to take another big step forward in safety, convenience, and modernisation. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

  • Full top‑boom upgrade at the Nesserton Entrance Stronger, smarter, and more reliable. This upgrade means smoother traffic flow and better protection at one of our busiest entry points. No more worrying about wear‑and‑tear slowing us down — this boom will be built to last.
  • LPR (License Plate Recognition) access at the 24‑hour boom Contributing members will enjoy effortless entry with automatic recognition. Imagine driving up and having the system know you instantly — no fumbling, no delays, just seamless access. It’s quick, secure, and makes life that much easier.

👀 Sneak Peek: Your VIP Moment

Picture this: you roll up to the boom, the system recognises your car instantly, and the gate opens like you’re gliding into a private club. No waiting, no fuss — just smooth, secure entry.

Soon, every contributing member will enjoy that “VIP lane” feeling, while visitors still get processed quickly and safely. It’s the kind of everyday upgrade that makes you smile and think, “Yep, this is why I love living here.”

  • Quick scan process for all other vehicles Visitors and non‑members will still move through efficiently, but with added checks to ensure our community stays safe. This balance of speed and security means less congestion and more peace of mind.

🌟 What This Means for You

  • Faster entry for residents — no more long queues.
  • Stronger, more reliable security at every gate.
  • A modern system that keeps our neighbourhood ahead of the curve.
  • Visible improvements that show we’re investing in the future of our community.

These upgrades aren’t just about gates and booms — they’re about building a suburb that feels safe, looks great, and works smoothly for everyone.

With continued contributions and support, we’ll keep unlocking projects like this that make daily life easier and our area more desirable. Together, we’re not just maintaining — we’re upgrading, improving, and setting the standard for what a thriving community looks like.

🔐 Seasonal Crime Alert: Stay Sharp

With warmer days, opportunistic crime often creeps up. Let’s not make it easy.

  • Lock up properly — every door, every window.
  • Keep outdoor lights on — visibility deters intruders.
  • Report suspicious activity immediately — don’t wait, don’t ignore.

💬 A Few Words from Residents

Us Romburghs: We have loved living in Isandovale and couldn’t imagine our family home being anywhere else. It’s heading up to a year since the fire at our home and we are still forever grateful for the Isandovale community who was there for us! ❤️

Long‑time Resident (since 1984): We bought our house off plan from the developers for R91,000 at the time. There are still a few of us who have been here since the beginning. Yes, lots has happened in the area — it has been a lifetime. We have loved living here. I remember the road through the graveyard and past the police station to take our kids to school.

Resident since 1989: Lots of happenings, changes and improvements since I moved in. Karaglen Spar was only built later on. The vegetable shop on the corner was used as a gym. We made our own temporary roads to travel to Harris Road — through the field and sometimes through the cemetery via the police station.

Resident since 2001: When we bought, Isandovale was the only real place we could afford at the time for the size house we wanted. It turned out to be a very good choice, especially with the road closure that happened. We’re going on 25+ years now.

Community Spirit: Good evening. There is so much to celebrate and appreciate. Honour and embrace the opportunities many never and couldn’t see. I’m in. Let us celebrate our Elders or Oldies.

Me – Soutpansberg 2003 👊🏻

Newbie (since 2005, Pyramid Rd): I’ve only lived here since 2005 🙂

Resident of Pyramid Road (50 years!): Just realized I’ve been in Pyramid Road for fifty years — first at No. 10 Pyramid in 1976, then 76 Pyramid in 1988! 😱

Resident (2000–2009, returned 18 months ago): I lived here from 2000 to 2009 (no enclosure) — it was terrible. Even though I was in a complex, there was a lot of crime and drugs. I moved back 18 months ago, again into a complex, and now I feel safe to go for my walk every day alone. It’s worth the money. The complexes also contribute.

✨ These voices remind us that Isandovale isn’t just a place — it’s a living story, woven together by families, memories, and decades of community spirit.
